Epiphany Smith is in her first full-time college coaching position, having joined coach Steve Lanpher’s NJIT staff in the summer of 2012.
Smith, who hails from Arkansas, represented two colleges on the basketball court, earning her degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, receiving her BS in Natural Science in May 2012.
A one-year starter and captain at Division I Texas-Pan American, Smith was named Independent Newcomer of the Year and All-Independent All-Star in 2008-09 after leading the Broncs with 4.3 assists per game and ranking second with 10 points per game.
She completed her playing eligibility at Division II Saint Anselm in 2012, playing three seasons for the Hawks. A second-team all-conference selection in one of the nation’s top Division II conferences, the Northeast-10, Smith led the Hawks with 14.3ppg and 3.4apg while ranking second in the league in three-pointers made per game in 2009-10.
Smith worked as an instructor at clinics conducted by Kate Connolly Basketball Clinic and Saint Anselm’s Women’s Basketball Clinic.
