Aaron Gratch

Aaron Gratch, one of the state's top basketball coaches among high school basketball circles in New Jersey, comes to NJIT in June 2018 after two successful coaching stints as the varsity girls' basketball coach at Gill St. Bernard's in New Jersey.

He concluded his second stint at Gill St. Bernard's in 2018 after, spending seven seasons on the staff and held the head coaching job from 2010-12. He went 53-11 in those two seasons, capturing a Non-Public B title, a berth in the Tournament of Champions and ranked No. 15 in the country according to USA Today in 2011-12.

The team also was ranked second in the state and went on to become a New Jersey Tournament of Champions finalist. He was named MSG Varsity All-Metro Coach of the Year in 2012 and was honored by the Courier News and Star-Ledger as Coach of the Year.

Gratch took a brief departure and moved into his first collegiate assistant coaching job at Colgate University from 2012-14, followed by a one-year stint as head coach at The Patrick School in Elizabeth, NJ, guiding the team to a 21-7 mark and the Union County Championship, the first ever for the girl's program. Gratch was named Union County Star-Ledger Coach of the Year.

The New Jersey native returned to Gill St. Bernard in 2015.  In 2016-17, the team reached the Somerset County Tournament final and finished the 2017-18 season ranked #18th in the state.  Gratch combined for a 116-52 overall mark at Gill St. Bernard's.

Gratch is a 2005 graduate of Caldwell University, where he earned his bachelors of science in management. He has two Master degrees from Seton Hall University (2011) MBA in Sports Management and Montclair State (2017) in Educational Leadership.
