Jack Wilson, a 2017 George Mason graduate, has joined the NJIT men’s volleyball staff in September 2018 as an assistant under head coach Danny Goncalves.
Wilson comes to NJIT after one stint at Eastern Mennonite University, an NCAA Division III program, in Virginia. The Royals reached 21 wins, the second highest win-total for the program, in the last eight seasons.
A five-year member of the George Mason men’s volleyball program, Wilson, a Volleyball Magazine all-American, led the Patriots to the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Conference Championship and NCAA appearance in 2016.
A two-time EIVA All-Tournament team selectee in 2015 and 2016, Wilson was a first-team honoree in 2017 and finished his collegiate career ranked sixth in kills (1,025) and fifth in service aces (101) and 20th in digs (276) at George Mason.
Wilson played professionally in Finland with the Kokkola Tiikerit in 2017, a team that plays in the Champions League, which serves as the most prestigious international club competition in the world. Wilson suffered a shoulder injury, ending his short professional career.
He represented team USA at the World University Games in South Korea in 2015 and trained in Anaheim at the US Volleyball Facility in the summer of 2015 and 2017.
Wilson has been involved in coaching Juniors volleyball for the last six years and coached various campus, clubs and private lessons.
