Anthony Gotto

NJIT cross country/track and field head coach Jason Munsch announced the hiring of Anthony Gotto as the program's assistant coach for throws in Fall 2021.

Gotto, a New Jersey native, comes to NJIT with a decade of experience (2012-present) as a New Jersey high school assistant coach. He has spent the last four seasons (2018-present) as the assistant coach (Throws) at Wayne Hills, working with the teams' Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin throwers, assisting with the high jump group and coaching student-athletes on event strength training. Before Wayne Hills, Gotto began his coaching career by spending six seasons at his alma mater, Belleville High School (2012-17), working with team's throwers as well.

Over his scholastic career, Gotto has coached four individual county champions, six league champions, and ten New Jersey State championship qualifiers.

Gotto is a 2006 graduate of Kean University (Bachelor's, Music Education) and a 2017 graduate of American College of Education (Master's, Educational Leadership). Outside of coaching, Gotto has been a public school music teacher since 2007 and has enjoyed a successful career as a private throwing coach to some of northern New Jersey’s better track throwers.
