2016-17: Appeared in all 10 meets as one of the Highlanders top breast swimmers. … in first meet as a Highlander at Binghamton placed third in the 100 breast and fourth in 200 breast. … at the ECAC Winter Championships placed sixth and swam a season-best 2:14.02 in the 200 breast, helping the Highlanders place first. … swam in four events at the CCSA Championships making the finals in the 100 breast and the 200 breast, and helped break the NJIT record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:24.64.

Prior to NJIT: Virginia native Justin Sherrill was a 2016 All-State finalist in the 100 breast. The 6-foot-5 breaststroke specialist placed sixth in the 100 breast at the 2016 Virginia High School League 3A State Meet.
