Why did you choose NJIT?
I chose NJIT as my university because of the strong engineering program, and the exceptional job placement. I have longed to become an engineer so when the time came around to chose a college, NJIT was an easy decision. Being almost guaranteed a job after graduation, as well as having the opportunity to continue my swimming career made NJIT stand out far above my other decisions.
When you were choosing between college swimming programs, what was unique about the NJIT Men's Swimming & Diving program?
A difficulty I faced when trying to pursue my swim career in college was the recruitment process for most schools. Many other colleges did not look at a swimmer's potential or eagerness to improve. They simply looked at times. The NJIT coaches were unique in that they did not just look at your times. Of course times are an important factor in the recruitment process, but the coaches and team here make it very clear that a swimmers potential and thirst to succeed are what really matter over the course of four years.
Why did you choose to be part of the NJIT Men's Swimming & Diving program?
I chose to be part of the NJIT Swimming and Diving program for many reasons. The opportunity to swim Division I really opened my eyes and let me know that this would bring me to the next level of swimming. The swimmers and coaches also played a big part of my decision. It was noticeable that this team was not one to judge a swimmer on their time or swim ability. The main factor that made me want to become a part of this program was the attitude of the coaches. The coaches at NJIT make it very clear that they want the best for you and will do anything to help you get to where you want to be.
