Tavares returned to NJIT in 2026 after competing at Loyola Marymount University during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

2025: A versatile and creative midfielder, he continued his development in 2025 by appearing in five matches with four starts, recording three assists and providing a strong playmaking presence in the attacking third

2024: Made LMU debut at UCLA (08/22/24), starting and logging 40 minutes in the midfield …

2022: America East All-Rookie team. .. started all 16 matches ranking second on the Highlander team with three goals and tied for second with six points.  Tavares has scored in two consecutive contests for NJIT (at UMBC; Oct. 28 & vs. Bryant; Nov. 1).  

Prior to NJIT: Tavares is coming off a successful summer with the Canadian u20 team in the CONCACAF qualifiers. ...played for FC Pacos de Ferreira and placed fourth in the u15 National First Division.
