New Jersey Institute of Technology Athletics

Matt Moran, a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), returns to the program as a volunteer soccer coach following a distinguished collegiate playing career (2021-24) with the Highlanders. 

A steady and versatile defender, Moran brings firsthand Division I experience, leadership, and a strong understanding of the game to the coaching staff.

In 2022, Moran played in 14 matches with 10 starts, anchoring the NJIT defense as the team recorded seven shutouts—tying the program’s Division I record (7; 2016). As a freshman in 2021, he made an immediate impact, appearing in 10 matches with seven starts and scoring his first collegiate goal in a 3–2 win at Binghamton on October 23.

A native of Pennsylvania, Moran attended Penn Foster High School before joining NJIT, where he earned his degree in business.
