John Ciano, who was a Division I goalkeeper at two schools, graduated from Manhattan College in 2009. His college coaching career began on Didier Orellana’s staff at Manhattanville, which was 23-11-2 during Ciano’s tenure.

As a player, he spent one season at Central Connecticut State and then three at Manhattan, where he is a cum laude graduate and was an Academic All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honoree. He started 54 games in his college career, posting a 1.96 goals against average and earning one MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honor.

A native of Syosset, Long Island, where he was an All-County player in high school, Ciano coaches throughout the New York area, working with the Brooklyn Knights, Eastern FC, USSF Cosmos East Academy, Eastern New York North ODP, and Armonk Soccer Club as assistant coach and/or goalkeeper coach.

He has played for numerous clubs, including the Brooklyn Knights and Long Island Rough Riders in the United Soccer Leagues-Premier Development League.
