    Volunteer Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Anthony Tuesta joined NJIT as volunteer assistant coach with the men’s soccer team in August 2015 after serving the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at New Jersey City University in Jersey City.
 
On the club level, Tuesta has coached with New Jersey Cedar Stars Academy (NJCSA) of Holmdel as a head coach and before that with Parsippany (NJ) Soccer Club 2012 to 2015. With NJCSA, he coaches U-11 and U-12 boys pre-academy teams, while at Parsippany, he was head coach for U-12, U-13, U-18, and U-20. In 2015, he worked with teams that were U-18 Boys NJ State Cup finalists and USL Super-Y League U-13 national qualifiers; 2014 U-20 USL Super-Y national champions; and, in 2013, USL Super-Y League U-17 national champions and NJ Youth Soccer State Cup Champions.
 
Tuesta entered coaching following an exceptional playing career in New Jersey at Mercer County Community College and Kean University of Union, NJ.
 
At Mercer, a long-time power in the two-year college ranks, he played for two teams (2002 and 2003) that reached the National Junior College Athletic Association finals.
 
He continued at Kean, which competes in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, a league of public institutions that is considered among the best nationwide in NCAA Division III. Playing for Kean, he was NJAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2006.
 
He also starred in high school at perennial power Clifton (NJ) High, firing home 90 career goals and earning numerous honors, including first-team all-state three times.
