Dan Gibbs joined NJIT men’s basketball as Director of Basketball Operations in August 2011.
A 2010 graduate of Syracuse University, Gibbs spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant coach at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Hartwick, which won 17 games overall, captured its first-ever Empire 8 Conference crown and reached the NCAA Division III Tournament. The wins total was the highest for Hartwick since 1995-96, which was also the last previous NCAA Tournament berth for the program.
As an undergraduate at Syracuse, Gibbs was a team manager for all four years and an office assistant for three years in the men’s basketball program headed by Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim.
In the summer between his junior and senior years of college, he was an intern at IMG Basketball Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he was a marketing/operations assistant at Hoop Mountain Inc. Basketball Camp in Beverly, MA, from June 2005 to August 2008.
His basketball camp experience includes work at Hoop Mountain New England, IMG Basketball Academy, Jim Boeheim Big Orange Basketball Camp, and Syracuse University Elite Prospect Camp.
The resident of Danvers, MA, earned his BS in marketing management from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
