Prior To NJIT: Competed at Great Oak for head coach Patrick Hornback and played club lacrosse for SoCal Bulls (coach Kevin Cooper) and Cali Gold (coach Johnny Rodriguez)...Team's Offensive MVP and overall MVP...First team All-League, Offensive League MVP, All-CIF...academically, earned school Scholarship Award...also competed in football.
Personal: Owen Carson Mercado...son of Kathy and Mel Mercado...intends to major in Civil Engineering...brother Austin Mercado played college lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.
