Herb M. Iris Award
An added feature of the 2006 NJIT Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony was be the inaugural presentations the Herb M. Iris Award--which will be bestowed annually.
The Herb M. Iris Award pays tribute to the late Herb M. Iris (Class of '51, 1930-2006), a great visionary and a major benefactor and supporter of NJIT athletics. Mr. Iris had the longest tenure as chair of the Highlander Athletic Advisory Board and served as national chair of the Highlander Athletics Campaign. The Herb M. Iris Award will honor exemplary leadership and support in the advancement of athletics at NJIT.
Proceeds from tonight's event will go toward the Iris Family Endowed Athletic Scholarship, created by the Iris family in August 1999.
