Coach Lane on Brereton: Kiana is a long, agile and mobile post player with great range on her J, a deft touch around the rim, and an impactful defensive presence.

2023-24: Appeared in 24 games with two starts. ... season-best nine points at Bryant (1.25.24) and four blocks vs. Saint Francis U (12.15.23).

2022-23: Appeared in 27 games with one start. ... combined a season-best 11 points and six rebounds vs. Bryant (1.18.23). 

2021-22: Played in all but one game (29) including two starts. ... Scored a season-best 13 points at Vermont (1.19.22).  ... pulled down five rebounds on four different occassions. .... averaged 3.1ppg and 2.4rpg.

2020-21: 14 points, 4 rebounds at New Hampshire (12.5.20) in the Highlanders 78-57 win, the first America East Conference victory for the Highlanders. ..Eight points, four rebounds, two blocks vs. Rider (12.23.20). … … Four points and five rebounds in her first collegiate game at Saint Peter’s (11.25.20).

Prior to NJIT: Brereton, a 6-foot-1 forward from Brooklyn, NY, concluded her high school career with 1,106 points (second all-time), 763 rebounds (second all-time) while ranking first in blocks (418) at Summit Academy Charter School.  In her final season, she averaged 11.9ppg, 6.8rpg and 3.7bpg.  ...A 2019-20 PSAL AA All-League first-team and All-City third-team honoree, Brereton registered a personal-best 40 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks against Grand Street High School on January 24, 2020. ...Brereton earned Summit Academy Rookie of the Year honors (11.0ppg; 9.6rpg, 5.4bpg) and Player of the Year accolades (9.2ppg, 7.2rpg, 4.2bpg) as a sophomore. ...She played AAU for the Lady X-Men.
