2011: Played for Puerto Rican Men's National Team (in late February), earning three goals. ... 2011 first-team all-Atlantic Soccer Conference pick, Gamero netted a team-leading four goals for the 2011 Highlanders, including the game-winner in a 2-1 upset of Virginia Tech, which earlier had shut out North Carolina, the eventual 2011 National Champion. He also scored twice in a 3-2 win over VMI.

He was later selected for the New Jersey/Pennsylvania team that faced New York/Connecticut in annual Red Bull High School Cup, hosted June 20 at Giants Stadium by Red Bull New York of Major League Soccer.
