BALTIMORE, MD–Loyola (MD) scored a goal in each half to secure a 2-0 shutout against visiting NJIT Thursday evening in men's soccer action at Ridley Athletic Complex in the 2025 season opener for both teams.

The Highlanders (0-1) fired off nine shots with four shots on goal in 90 minutes of action but the Greyhounds (1-0) were able to edge the Highlanders with 13 shots and six on goal.  

Sophomore Diogo Rebelo led NJIT with three shots followed by Cristian LoGrasso and Caio Carrara with two shots each.

NJIT goalkeeper Devin Armstrong played the full 90 minutes and recorded four saves.

Loyola's first goal of the match was scored in the fifth minute on a goal scored by Jack Endacott assisted by Tyler Flynn on a give-and-go to grab a 1-0 lead.

The Greyhounds scored an insurance goal in the 83rd minute on a high serve into the box to Nicholas Turturro to put Loyola ahead 2-0.

Loyola's Connor O'Keefe registered the clean sheet, stopping two Highlander shots.

NJIT will make a short trip to FDU for a Garden State match-up on Sunday at 12Noon inside University Stadium in Teaneck, NJ.
