LONG BEACH, CA–No. 1 Long Beach State swept visiting NJIT, 3-0, to conclude the weekend series with the Highlanders Saturday evening inside Walter Pyramid in non-conference men's volleyball action.
Long Beach State improves to 20-0 on the season while the Highlanders move to 7-12 on the year. On Friday night, NJIT took a set off the Beach which marked the first time since February 7 (vs. #3 UCLA) that a team has taken a set from Long Beach State.
Senior Antonio Feliciano led the Highlanders with a .438 hitting percentage, combining for eight kills on 16 attempts and just one error. Freshman Bruno Figueiredo registered 15 assists and added three digs while middle Andrew Fedmasu posted a team-best three block assists.
Long Beach State was paced by Skylar Varga's with a match-best 10 kills followed by Moni Nikolov continued his hot weekend with eight kills, .636 hitting percentage, five aces and four block assists.
NJIT will conclude its non-conference slate on Saturday, March 29 welcoming D'Youville at 4pm inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
