HOBOKEN, NJ–The NJIT men's fencing team registered a 4-1 record at the MACFA B vs. C Sunday afternoon hosted by Stevens.
The Highlanders came out on top against Navy (20-7), William & Mary (22-5), Haverford (17-10) and Maryland (26-1) while dropping a close decision to Johns Hopkins (16-11).
The men's saber team led the way on Sunday for the Highlanders paced by Christopher Cortez who recorded a 12-3 mark (80% winning percentage) followed by Brandon Howe at 10-2 (83 % winning percentage) and Adrian Figueredo who went undefeated 9-0 (100% winning percentage).
In the men's epee competition, Niels Roubailo combined for a 9-2 mark (81.82% winning percentage) followed by Ummi Green with an 8-2 mark (80% winning percentage).
NJIT will be back in action on March 2 when the Highlanders compete at the MACFA Championships hosted by Drew at 9am.
