​NEWARK, NJ–Senior Alessandro Negri has been selected EIVA Offensive Player of the WEek the conference office announced on Monday.

In a 2-0 week for the Highlanders, Negri averaged 2.88kps, .475 hitting percentage and 1.13dps.

Negri combined for 11 kills on 21 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage to go along with six digs in a thrilling 3-2 win over Queens (NC).

In a 3-0 sweep over Saint Francis U, Negri registered 12 kills on 19 swings with no errors for a .632 hitting percentage and added three digs.

Negri ranks second in the conference in digs (2.13), seventh in hitting percentage (.330) and 11th in kills (3.07).

NJIT, which completed a five-match homestand, will make its first road trip of the season and visit LIU on January 31 at 5pm before returning back home to Newark for its second five-match homestand which begins on February 1.
