​LEXINGTON, KY–The NJIT men's volleyball team has been awarded the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Highlanders also earned the additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, representing the top 20% of team GPAs in each division.

NJIT boosted a 3.619 cumulative grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year.  Four Highlanders – Harrison Girard, Josh Gregg, Parker Moorhead and Gil Zyndorf each combined for a cumulative grade point average of a 4.0.

Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as a record-breaking 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.
