NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT women's tennis team wrapped up the 2024 regular season in dominant fashion with a 6-1 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves Friday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The Highlanders (15-4) took advantage of the final match being switched from Long Island to Newark by clinching their highest win total since 2012-13 (15-6) on their home turf. Today's win was also the tenth while conceding one or fewer sets.
"This was a very nice team win today that capped off an incredible 15-4 regular season. The entire team has given their all this season, the work ethic has been tremendous, and their ability to work through each and every match individually has really made a difference in the team results," head coach Patricia Piorkowski McDonald said after the win. "It has been my pleasure to coach these women and we are looking forward to preparing for the upcoming conference tournament and further testing our abilities."

NJIT will await its seeding placement for the aforementioned Southland Conference Tournament, being held from Thursday, April 18 to Sunday, April 21 at the McFarlin Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.
