Women's Tennis Sweeps Wagner, Wins Eighth Straight

NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT women's tennis cruised to a 5-0 win over the Wagner Seahawks Sunday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

The victory closes out the Highlanders' seven-match homestand perfect (7-0) and gives the team sole possession of the second-longest winning streak in program history, regardless of Division.

After two other matches this weekend, both teams agreed to play a clinching match (first to four). NJIT (9-1) won all three doubles flights to easily take the doubles point and took each of their singles flights in straight sets. Nos. 1 and 2 finished around the same time so their matches were counted in the Highlanders' total.

NEXT UP
NJIT will hit the road for one match next week, facing Morgan State on Saturday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in Baltimore.
