NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT women's tennis team won its fourth straight match, defeating the visiting LIU Sharks 6-1 Friday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.

After conceding the doubles point by a close 2-1 margin, the Highlanders (5-1) cruised in singles action by winning all six flights in straight sets.

"The team played exceptionally well against an extremely talented LIU team today. The ladies showed a great deal of motivation and discipline to win all six singles courts," head coach Patricia Piorkowski McDonald raved after the victory.
