2025 NJIT Men's Volleyball Schedule
NEWARK, NJ–NJIT men's volleyball head coach
Danny Goncalves announced the 2025 slate which will feature six teams ranked in the final 2024 AVCA/NVA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll.
In addition to the six teams ranked in the final 2024 AVCA/NVA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll, four teams on the Highlanders schedule – Long Beach State, Grand Canyon, Penn State and Ohio State appeared in the 2024 NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament.
The Highlanders will host 16 home matches inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center and play 10 on the road.
NJIT will get the 2025 season underway hosting the first five matches of the season at home.
On January 10-11, NJIT will welcome defending Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Tournament Champions Grand Canyon to Newark, NJ. The Lopes, who advanced to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, finished last season with a final ranking in the AVCA/NVA at No. 3, a 26-5 overall record and 10-2 in the MPSF.
NJIT will host Roberts Wesleyan (January 17), Queens (NC) (January 24) and Saint Francis U (January 25) all inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
The Highlanders first road trip of the season will be to Brooklyn and visit LIU on January 31.
February will kick off five straight matches in Newark for the Highlanders, welcoming Dominican (NY) on February 1.
NJIT will open EIVA Conference action on February 7, hosting George Mason, who finished tied 14th in the AVCA/NVA final rankings.
A week later, NJIT will host Princeton on February 14 and a pair of matches against Penn State on the weekend of February 21-22. Penn State, the 2024 EIVA Conference Champions, advanced to the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, finished No. 8 in the final AVCA/NVA rankings while concluding the season with a 23-7 overall mark and a perfect 10-0 record in the EIVA. The Tigers concluded the season with an even 12-12 mark and ranked No. 18 in the AVCA/NVA final rankings.
NJIT will conclude the month of February on the road at Princeton on February 28.
Another stretch of home matches for the Highlanders begins in March with NJIT welcoming Lincoln Memorial on March 2 and a pair of matches against Ohio State on March 7-8. Ohio State, the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament Champions (MIVA) advanced to the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, finishing the season ranked No. 9 in the final AVCA/NVA rankings, 22-9 overall and 11-5 in the MIVA.
NJIT will be on the road for four straight, visiting STAC (March 11), George Mason (March 14) and Long Beach State (March 21-22) before returning back home to host D'Youville (March 29).
Long Beach State, the 2024 Big West Tournament Champions, finished last season ranked No. 2 in the final AVCA/NVA rankings, advanced to the NCAA Championship match and concluded its season 27-3 overall, 9-1 in the Big West.
The month of April will feature the Highlanders on the road for four matches – at Charleston (WV) (April 4-5) and Sacred Heart (April 11-12) before closing out the regular season, hosting Harvard (April 18-19).
The EIVA Tournament will begin on April 23 with the championship being played on April 26.
