NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's basketball team will look to get back into the win column before breaking for the holiday when the Highlanders visit Wagner on Thursday night.

All-Time Series
The all-time series is tied at 7-7. Last season, NJIT defeated Wagner, 80-36. The 44-point win margin against Wagner is the most against a Division I opponent since February 12, 2012 when NJIT defeated Houston Baptist by 60-points, 88-28.

Junior Alejandra Zuniga scored her 1,000 career point in the fourth quarter on a driving layup but the Highlanders could not overcome a 13-point deficit as visiting Monmouth registered a 63-54 road victory Monday evening in women's basketball non-conference action inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.
Zuniga entered the night at 985 career points and became the 13th Highlander to score 1,000 career points after a tough driving right-handed layup with 2:38 left in the game.

Scouting Wagner
Wagner enters Thursday with a 1-7 overall record, most recently, dropping a non-conference matchup against Lafayette. Graduate student Julia Fabozzi was named a NEC Prime Performer after scoring 16 points and grabbing a career-high 13 boards.
The Seahawks lone win of the season came against Saint Elizabeth in the season opener.
Wagner has lost the last seven straight and is led by Fabozzi who is averaging 12.8ppg and 6.3rpg.

NJIT will close out the 2024 calendar year on December 30 at LIU. Tip off is slated for 7pm.
