NEW YORK–The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams competed at the annual Columbia Invitational Friday evening.
Both teams competed against Johns Hopkins and host Columbia.
Men's Score
Johns Hopkins 19, NJIT 8
Columbia 24, NJIT 3
Christopher Cortez and Adrian Figueredo led the men's saber group on Friday. Cortez combined for a 3-2 mark while Figueredo posted a 3-3 record.
Women's Score
Johns Hopkins 22, NJIT 5
Columbia 25, NJIT 2
Gala Krsmanovic led the way for the Highlanders, registering a 3-3 overall record in the women's epee competition.

The two teams will return to action on December 8 when the Highlanders compete in the Vassar Traditional Meet.
