NJIT Swimming & Diving Hits The Road For Dual Meets Against Villanova And Georgetown

NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT swimming and diving team hits the road for two dual meets this weekend. The Highlanders will compete against Villanova on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Villanova Swim Complex and against Georgetown on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Pool.
 
The meet against Villanova will be streamed on FloSwimming, while the meet against Georgetown will be broadcasted on guhoyas.com.
 
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT recorded two first place finishes this season, most recently at the NJIT Invitational against Howard and Saint Peter's. The Highlanders won their only dual meet this season, beating Iona 79-63 on October 4.
 
Ilias El Fallaki set two school records in his collegiate debut, including the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:32.82) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:44.05) at the NJIT Invitational. His 1,650-yard freestyle ranks first in the America East and 10th in the nation. He earned the America East Swimmer and Rookie of the Week honors for his performance. El Fallaki also ranks No. 3 in the conference for the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.85).
 
Adam Mekrami won the 500-yard freestyle at the NJIT Invitational with a time of 4:34.40, ranking first in the America East.
 
Aidan Blackmon ranks third in the America East in the 50-yard backstroke, posting a time of 23.34 against Iona.
 
Borys Endle won two events at the NJIT Invitational, including the 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.14) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:06.33). His 200-yard breaststroke time ranks fourth in the America East, while his 400-yard individual medley ranks second in the conference. Endle also posted a 200-yard individual medley time of 1:55.56 at the NJIT Invitational, ranking third in the America East.
 
SCOUTING VILLANOVA & GEORGETOWN
Villanova enters the contest with a 1-1 record, most recently beating Rider 152-146 on October 30. The Wildcats finished fourth at the Big East Championships last season. NJIT beat Villanova 157-139 last season, but the Wildcats lead the all-time series 2-1 in dual meets.
 
Georgetown has a 3-0 record in dual meets this season, most recently securing a narrow victory against Villanova, 151-149. The Hoyas finished in second place at the Potomac Relays, beating Howard, American, Mary Washington, and Mount Saint Mary's. Georgetown captured its third straight Big East Championship last season. The Hoyas lead the all-time series 3-0 in dual meets, including a 199.5-100.5 win over NJIT last season.
