Men’s Soccer Concludes Non-Conference Slate on Tuesday; Welcomes Drexel to Newark

NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's soccer team will conclude the non-conference slate on Tuesday, welcoming Drexel to Newark, NJ.

Game Information
Tuesday's match is slated for 7:00pm at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. The match will be streamed live on America East TV with in-game statistics available on NJITHighlanders.com.

All-Time Meeting
Drexel leads the all-time series, 5-0-3.   The first meeting dates back to 2010 when the two teams first met in Philadelphia.

Last Time Out
The NJIT men's soccer team earned three crucial points on Saturday afternoon as they took down UAlbany, 2-1, at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. The Highlanders were buoyed by a pair of first half goals, with Goncalo Franco and Sergio Martinez Cubel each finding the back of the net to get NJIT back to .500 in league play.

Scouting the Dragons
Drexel enters Tuesday's match with a 7-4-1 overall mark, most recently tying William & Mary, 1-1, on October 19.

A goal with 42 seconds left in the second half by Drexel's Omar Jallow secured a 1-1 draw with William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at Vidas Field.

Dominick Bachstein paces Drexel with nine goals, five assists for 23 points followed by Patrick Short with three goals and nine assists for 15 points.  His nine goals ranks eighth in the nation, second in the nation with 23 points while Short ranks tied for fifth in total assists.

The Dragons are undefeated in their last four matches – T, 1-1 (William & Mary), W, 2-1 (Stony Brook), W, 5-4 vs. #14 Hofstra and W, 5-0 against America East opponent UMBC.

Next Up
NJIT, with three regular season matches left on the schedule, will play two out of the three on the road.  The Highlanders will visit UMass Lowell on October 26 at 6pm.  The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
