NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's basketball team will host Binghamton on Thursday, February 1 in America East Conference action.

Game Information
The game is slated to start at 7pm inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center with in-game statistics available on NJITHighlanders.com.  The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

NJIT leads the all-time series, 5-4.  NJIT has won the last four meetings against Binghamton with the margin of victory 10 points or less.

NJIT Notes
–NJIT finished the non-conference slate above .500 with an 8-5 mark for the first time in the NJIT Division I era (first season competing against a Division I schedule – 2006-07). 
–The Highlanders are in search of its first win in 2024 and in America East Conference action, dropping its last seven contests.
–NJIT led by 2023 America East Conference Rookie of the Year Alejandra Zuniga, is averaging 15.4ppg, which ranks fifth in the league.
Trinity Williams tops the America East in blocked shots, averaging 1.8bpg.  As a team, NJIT is ranked 15th nationally in blocks per game (5.4).  Williams paces the Highlanders on the boards with 6.4rpg while adding 9.6ppg.

Last Time Out
The NJIT women's basketball team was defeated by visiting UMBC, 72-61, in America East Conference action inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT's Alejandra Zuniga led all players with 18 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point range to go along with three steals.  Zuniga has scored in double-figures in 19 out of 20 games this season.

In addition to Zuniga's 18 points, Trinity Williams and Lyzi Litwinko each registered 15 points.  Williams shot 6-of-10 from the field with six rebounds and four blocks.  Litwinko filled up the box score Saturday, shooting 4-for-7 from the field, 7-of-9 from the free throw line while grabbing six rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Aria Myers chipped in six points off the bench for NJIT, finishing 3-for-8 from the field with two rebounds and two steals.

Scouting Binghamton
Binghamton enters Thursday's contest with a 7-13 overall record, 2-5 in the America East.  Prior to dropping a two-point loss against Maine, who sits in third in the league, Binghamton has won back-to-back games against UMass Lowell and New Hampshire.  The Bearcats played a close game against top-seeded UAlbany on January 13, falling by two, 60-58.

The Bearcats have four players averaging double-figures paced by Ella Wanzer's 11.4ppg.  Following Wanzer is Genevieve Coleman (10.9), Denai Bowman (10.7) and Jadyn Weltz (10.6).

Next Up
After a bye weekend on February 3, the second half of the America East Conference schedule will begin for the Highlanders, visiting Vermont (Feb. 8) and UMass Lowell (Feb. 10).
