NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's basketball team hits the road for a pair of America East Conference games, visiting New Hampshire on Thursday and Maine on Saturday.

Game Information - New Hampshire
The game is slated to start at 6pm inside Lundholm Gymnasium with in-game statistics available on UNHWildcats.com.  The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

All-Times Series vs. New Hampshire
New Hampshire leads the all-time series, 6-4.  NJIT has won the last three out of four meetings against the Wildcats, including a season series sweep in 2022-23. 

All-Time Series vs. Maine 
Maine leads the all-time series, 5-3. NJIT picked up a 56-54 win at Maine last season on February 11, 2023 to split the season series with the Black Bears.  Prior to the Highlanders win, Maine took the last five out of six games from the Highlanders. 

Last Time Out 
NJIT's Trinity Williams (10pts, 12reb) and Lyzi Litwinko (12pts, 11reb) each posted a double-double but it wasn't enough as visiting Vermont's Emma Utterback scored a game-best 20 points on its way to a 68-55 road victory over NJIT.

NJIT's Alejandra Zuniga, the 2023 America East Conference Rookie of the Year, paced the Highlanders with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range.  Lyzi Litwinko notched a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds, which is a season-best for the senior guard while Williams combined for 10 points and 12 rebounds.  This is the second straight game, Williams registered a double-double and the 12 rebounds is a season-best (one shy her career-high).

America East Conference
NJIT will begin its fourth season in the America East and will play a schedule of 16 conference games against the other eight schools.  The Highlanders became the 10th full member of the America East on July 1, 2020 and were selected to finish fifth in the 2023-24 preseason coaches poll, receiving 38 votes.

The Highlanders, which made its third consecutive appearance in the 2023 America East postseason tournament, concluded its season with a 13-16 overall mark and 8-8 in the America East.

NJIT is 0-3 early in America East Conference play, dropping a road contest at UAlbany to open league play and a three-point home loss to UMass Lowell on Education, where the Highlanders led by as many as 10 in the third quarter.  Vermont defeated the Highlanders on January 13, 68-55 in Newark.

Back for her Graduate Year - Kenna Squier
Squier was selected to the America East Conference third team.  She moved into second in the NJIT DI era after the Highlanders win over Saint Peter's on December 12 and currently stands with 1,300 points (2nd NJIT DI era; 5th all-time), 541 rebounds, 249 assists (5th in NJIT DI era), 166 steals (1st DI era; 8th all-time) and 117 games played/started (T-5th in NJIT DI era).

The guard from Branchville, NJ, tied the NJIT Division I single-game record with seven steals in the Highlanders win at FDU on November 29.

Picking Up Where She Left Off - Alejandra Zuniga
Ready for her second season in a Highlander uniform is Zuniga, who was selected America East Rookie of the Year, became the first player in NJIT women's basketball program history to be named to the accolade, including America East Third Team, America East All-Rookie Team.

The 31 points scored by Zuniga against Binghamton on February 15, 2023 are the most points scored by a freshman since the 2008 season.

This season, Zuniga paces the Highlanders with 14.9ppg and has scored in double-digits in 16 out of 16 games this season, including three 20-point contests (season-high 23 at Army). Zuniga ranks seventh in the America East in scoring.

Block Party
NJIT currently ranks 13th in the nation with 5.5 blocks per game. NJIT is led by Trinity Williams who is blocking a league-best 1.9 shots per game, followed by freshman Madilyn Dogs at 1.2 blocks per contest.

Scouting New Hampshire
New Hampshire enters Thursday's contest with a 6-10 overall mark, 0-4 in the America East.  The Wildcats have dropped its last four games, including a one-point game at Bryant, 55-54, on Saturday.

Avery O'Conner leads the Wildcats in scoring (8.4ppg) and 27 three-point field goals.  Clara Gomez tops the team on the boards with 6.3rpg and 10 blocks.

Scouting Maine
Maine, on a three-game win streak, enters this week's America East contests with a 10-7 overall mark, 3-0 in the America East, which includes wins over UMass Lowell, Vermont and New Hampshire.

Anne Simon, who leads the league in scoring is averaging 18.8ppg and 7.3rpg.  She is shooting 46% from the field and has combined for 45 steals.  The reigning America East Conference Player of the Week Adrianna Smith is the Black Bears other double-digit scorer with 15.4ppg and tops the America East in rebounding at 10.prpg.
