Men's Swimming Defeated On Road At Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — The NJIT men's swimming and diving team opened the 2024 calendar year with a hard-fought 164-124 defeat against cross-county rival Seton Hall Friday evening at the Pirates' Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

NJIT picked up five event victories against Seton Hall Friday: Francois Malherbe in the 100 Free (46.26) and 50 Fly (22.85), Laith Sabbah in the 500 Free (4:49.89), Sam Deemer in the 200 IM (1:58.15), and Aidan Blackmon/Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar/Laith Sabbah/Zac Kuzak in the 200 Free Relay (1:28.02)
NJIT swept through a number of the events they won:
- 200 Free Relay: Dylan Ostolaza/Hirad Sharifan/Michael McGillycuddy/Vigo Munitic (2nd, 1:28.97); Oxford Bayley/RJ Farina/Mizell McEachin/Matthew Bevan (3rd, 1:32.65)
- 500 Free: Keegan Wooding (2nd, 4:51.26); Oxford Bayley (3rd, 4:59.99)
- 50 Fly: Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar (2nd, 24.11); Mizell McEachin (24.38)
- 200 IM: Bartosz Bryg (2nd, 2:01.41); Ryan Hause (3rd, 2:02.09)

NEXT UP
NJIT will swim at the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center Natatorium for the first time in 2024 and last time this season on Saturday, January 20 against Rider. The Senior Day meet is scheduled for a Noon start.
