Newark, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team will travel to Long Island this weekend for their first three matches of the season. The Highlanders will take on Delaware State on Friday, before returning to take on host Hofstra and Siena on Saturday.
Weekend Schedule
Friday vs. Delaware State (3pm)
Saturday at Hofstra (1:30pm)
Saturday vs. Siena (4pm).
Location
All three matches will take place in the David C. Mack Physical Education Center on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

Pedro Trevino named graduate student
Juliana Impaglia and junior
Ines Varela captains for the 2023 season. It will be Impaglia's second year serving as captain and Varela's first season in the leadership role.
Who's Back?
Trevino welcomes back 11 returners from a squad that won eight games last seasons.
Adriana Goetz-Morales joins Impaglia as five-year members of the program,
Elley Torres and
Kaitlyn Arias are back for their senior seasons, while
Kelle Anwander,
Cami Augustine, and
Campbell Walker join Varela to make up the junior class. Three sophomores -
Maddie Dennis,
Doga Emil, and
Taylor West - are all in their second seasons with the program.
The New Crew
Earlier this preseason, Trevino announced five newcomers to the roster.
Mariana Cova comes to the squad as a sophomore transfer, while
Ashlynn Berns,
Olivia Grall,
Rowan Schreiber, and
Sara Siefert make up the team's freshman class.

NJIT will have seven home matches this season, with the first coming against Manhattan on Sept. 20. The squad will also host Stonehill in non-conference action, in addition to their America East home matches against UAlbany, Binghamton, Bryant, New Hampshire, and UMBC. The UAlbany and UMBC matches will be streamed on ESPN+, while the other five home matches will be streamed free of charge on America East.TV.
