Williams, Zuniga and Mackenzie Wright-Rawls each grabbed four rebounds while Williams dished out a career-best five assists.

Miami had five players in double-figures paced by Jasmyne Roberts and Jaida Patrick each combining for 12 points.

Both teams traded points through the first two possessions and Miami scored six straight points for a 10-4 lead at the 6:37 mark and took a nine-point lead, 17-8, at the first media timeout.  The Hurricanes held a 13-point advantage, 25-13, after the first 10 minutes.

NJIT cut the Miami deficit to 12 in the second quarter, 30-18, on a three-pointer by Aria Myers at the 7:15 mark but the Hurricanes outscored the visiting Highlanders 23-10 to take a 48-22 lead at the half.

The Highlanders scored the first five points of the third quarter and outscored the Hurricanes by one, 17-16, in the third stanza led by Squier, who netted eight points and Zuniga with seven points.
