Fernando Barboto previews the No. 5 Highlanders at No. 4 UVM Catamounts on Saturday, November 4 at 3pm
NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's soccer team has reached the America East Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive season as the No. 5 Highlanders (6-7-4, 3-2-2 AE) take on No. 4 Vermont Catamounts (11-4-2, 4-3-0 AE) Saturday, November 4.
Game Information
The match will be played at Virtue Field on the campus of Vermont with kickoff slated for 3pm on America East TV. In-game statistics will be available on UVMAthletics.com.

The America East is ranked #5 as a conference behind the Pac-12, ACC, Sun Belt and Big East. The America East currently has five teams in the top-65 of RPI. New Hampshire ranks seventh, Vermont (14th), Bryant (16th), UMBC (33rd) and NJIT (60).
Tied for 18th in the Nation in Assists
Sophomore Maximus Barboto, the 2022 America East Conference Rookie of the Year, sits tied for 18th in the nation in assists with 8.
The eight assists in a single season ties the NJIT Division I record and his 12 career assists ranks fifth all-time in the NJIT Division I era.
Graduate Student Goalkeeper Samuel Reisgys
Senior goalkeeper Samuel Reisgys, the Highlanders all-time career saves leader with 293 career saves, played in his 76th career match at UAlbany on October 31, tying the NJIT Division I mark held by Rene White '21.
Win Over Top 15 Team
NJIT upset then-ranked No. 15 Vermont on October 7, 1-0, for the program's first win over a United Soccer Coaches top-25 team since 2015.
All-Time Series
Vermont leads the all-time series, 5-1, with the Highlanders upsetting the Catamounts this season, 1-0, on October 7. The previous five seasons Vermont topped the Highlanders by one-goal except in October 2022 when UVM defeated NJIT 4-0.
