Men's Swimming and Diving Defeats Lafayette In Home Finale

NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT men's swimming and diving team closed out its home dual schedule with a 155-138 victory over the visiting Lafayette Leopards Thursday evening at the Wellness and Events Center Natatorium.

The Highlanders narrowly won the total event count (9 to 7) to hold off the Leopards for the 17-point triumph. Sam Deemer (100 Back, 200 Back), Matthew Bevan (100 Breast, 200 Breast) and Tanish Chhabra (50 Free, 100 Free) paced NJIT with two individual wins a piece, while Keegan Wooding (1000 Free), Jake Nelms (1 Meter Diving), and Oxford Bayley (500 Free) each winning one.

The victory closes out NJIT's home skate with a record of 3-2.
