ST. CHARLES, MO–Lindenwood swept visiting NJIT 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-23) Wednesday evening in men's volleyball non-conference action.
NJIT concludes a three-match season-opening road swing, moving to 1-2 on the young season while Lindenwood picks up their first win of the season.
Lindenwood was paced by AJ Lewis and Clay Wieter who shared match-high honors with nine kills apiece. Connor Sheehan led all players with 28 assists while Kyle Deutschmann combined for eight digs.
The Lions held a 8-3 advantage in the service ace category paced by Lewis with four and Wieter with three in the home victory.
Alessandro Negri led the NJIT with seven kills followed by Julian Meissner (6), Antonio Feliciano (5) and Carson Williams (5). Williams hit .500 for the match with five kills on eight attempts with just one error.
Roque Nido and Griffin Fieseler split time at the setting position for the second straight match notching 16 and 11 assists respectively. Feliciano led the Highlander defense with eight digs.
NJIT will look to bounce back on Saturday at 1pm in the home opener against Sacred Heart. The match will be produced on ESPN+.
