NEWARK, NJ–NJIT women's basketball alumnae and five-year starter Ellyn Stoll will continue her basketball career having signed a professional contract to play with Herceg Novi Basketball Club in Montenegro.
"I am beyond excited to continue my basketball career playing for the basketball club Novi, in Herceg Novi, Montenegro," said Stoll. "My experiences at NJIT over the last five years have put me in a position to succeed in this new and exciting journey. Being able to play in the home country of my NJIT teammate and forever friend Milena Bajic, is something I will hold very close to my heart. Stoll, a two-time team captain for the Highlanders, has left her name in the record books at NJIT, scoring 1,232 career points which ranks third in the NJIT Division I era, combining for 210 three-pointers, which ranks second in the NJIT DI era and holds the record for career games with 136 and career starts 122.
"I am absolutely ecstatic about Ellyn joining Herceg Novi Basketball Club," head coach Mike Lane added. "This is truly proof that dreams can be achieved with courage, conviction and commitment. Ellyn grew her game each year as a Highlander and ultimately wrote her name all over our record book, so this is an opportunity well earned and deserved. And no doubt it is a huge bonus that Ellyn can lean on former NJIT teammate Milena Bajic who is from Podgorica, Montenegro to help navigate her new life in her new home. The Highlander guard from Point Pleasant, NJ, graduated cum laude with a bachelors in business with a concentration in marketing in December 2020, earning Dean's List for six semesters. In May 2022, Stoll graduated from the Business Administration MBA Program.
