Official WBCA Release

NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's basketball team has been honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for the team's academic excellence the organization announced on Wednesday.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

This year's release marks the first year in which all teams which reported a minimum 3.0 GPA also are recognized for their academic accomplishment.

NJIT boosted a spring grade point average of 3.404.

Two student-athletes Maddie Martin and Maria Fux earned a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester while nine student-athletes were named to the Dean's List and 94.1% of the team combined for a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher.
