Records Fall For Men's Swimming and Diving On Day One Of Bucknell Invitational

11/18/2022 9:03:00 PM

LEWISBURG, PA — A pair of school records were set by the NJIT men's swimming and diving team on the first day of the Bucknell Invitational Friday evening at Kinney Natatorium.

Sam Deemer and Tanish Chhabra set their new program marks in the 500 and 50 free, respectively. Deemer's 500 time of 4:30.90 reset his own personal best of 4:33.12 from the 2021 CSCAA National Invitational Championships while Chhabra's 20.23 finish bested former Highlander Brian Capozzola's record time of 20.28 from the 2015 CCSA Championships.

The two memorable performances contributed to the Highlanders' 177 point team tally, good enough for sixth place after Friday's 12-event slate.
