NEWARK, NJ–Coming off a season-best four goals against Hartford on Tuesday, the NJIT men's soccer team will return to America East Conference action and welcome UAlbany on Saturday, October 22 under the lights.

All-Time Series
The series between the two schools is even at 2-2. In the last meeting, the 2021 America East Conference quarterfinals, NJIT upset third-ranked UAlbany to advance to the semifinals, defeating the Great Danes, 2-1.
Last Time Out
Graduate student Jose Del Valle's brace led NJIT past Hartford, 4-0, to conclude the non-conference slate for the Highlanders at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
NJIT, which scored a season-best four goals, all coming in the second half, moved back into the win column, improving to 4-5-4 overall. The 24 overall shots is a new season-high for the Highlanders (21 shots at Villanova; 9.14.22).
NJIT Division I Career Assists Leader
In NJIT's 4-0 home victory on Tuesday, Alejandro Rabell registered his 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 career assist which ranks tied for first in the NJIT DI era with Andrew Nino '19. His 17 career assists rank second all-time at NJIT.
Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT has collected wins against James Madison, La Salle, Sacred Heart and Hartford while tying Drexel, Rider, UMass Lowell and Binghamton and dropped decisions at Big East foes UConn and Villanova, Iona from the MAAC, three-time defending America East Conference regular season champions New Hampshire and No. 12 Vermont.
Prior to the New Hampshire goal in the second half on October 8, NJIT set a new Division I program record scoreless streak with a time of 407:25. NJIT entered the match unbeaten in the last four, registering three ties (Rider, UMass Lowell, Binghamton) and a victory against Sacred Heart).
Jose Del Valle leads the Highlander attack with four goals and nine points followed by Goncalo Franco and Asembo Augo with three goals. Freshman Maximus Barboto, who has earned America East Conference Rookie of the Week twice this season thus far, is the son of head coach Fernando Barboto.
Senior co-captain Samuel Reisgys has played in every match but one in goal for the Highlanders this season, posting a 1.57 goals-against average and a .705 saves percentage. His 224 career saves tops the record books in the NJIT All-Time Division I era.
Scouting UAlbany
After three straight matches at home, UAlbany takes to the road to visit NJIT on Saturday.
UAlbany played in its final non-conference game of the 2022 regular season, hosting Colgate on October 18. Colgate scored in the first half but the Great Danes scored the equalizer in the 71st minute as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Great Danes picked up a pair of wins in America East action against UMBC and Bryant while tying Binghamton. UAlbany's lone loss in the league was against New Hampshire.
