PHILADELPHIA–The NJIT men's fencing team opened 2022, competing at the Philadelphia Invitational, picking up three victories behind Rourke Hillyer's 15 victories on Saturday, January 22.

NJIT earned wins against Sacred Heart (16-11), Lafayette (22-5) and Haverford (20-7).

Hillyer combined for a 15-4 record in epee competition for a winning percentage of 79 while Brett Bogert went 14-5 on the epee strip for a winning percentage of 74.

Kevin Katayama and Thomas Manley recorded 12 and 11 wins respectively in the foil competition.  Cristian Candescu added eight wins.

The Highlanders will be in action on January 30 at the Eric Sollee Invitational at 10am.
