NEWARK, NJ--Making its first-ever appearance in the 2021 America East Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, No. 3 NJIT is slated to meet No. 2 Vermont in the semifinals hosted by New Hampshire on Thursday, April 15. Kickoff is slated for 7pm.

2021 America East Men's Soccer Tournament
New Hampshire clinched its second-consecutive #AEMSOC regular-season title and first outright since 2009. The Wildcats will host the Championship which starts with two semifinals games on Thursday, April 15.
NJIT, Pod C champs, will be the No. 3 seed in the America East Conference Tournament. NJIT (4-4-0, 4-2 America East) will face Vermont (4-1-1, 4-1-1 America East), the No. 2 seed and the wildcard team.
No. 1 New Hampshire will take on No. 4 Hartford in the opening match of championship play Thursday, April 15 at 2 p.m.
The match will be streamed live on America East TV with in-game statistics available on www.NJITHighlanders.com.
All-Time Series
Thursday will mark the second all-time meeting between NJIT and Vermont.
Noah Egan scored the game-winning goal in the final minute and headed a carefully placed corner kick by Alex Nagy to seal the game the 2-1 victory. Evan Rouleau scored early in the game on another Nagy assist and Nate Silveira tallied four saves. Jose Adames was the goal scorer for the Highlanders in the first ever meeting between the two programs.
America East All-Conference Awards
Senior Regsan Watkins was selected the 2021 America East Conference Striker of the Year and four Highlanders were named to the All-Conference team the league office announced on Wednesday.
In addition to Striker of the Year, Watkins was named to the first team and All-Academic team. Rene White earned first team honors, Alejandro Rabell was named to the second team and Jose Escandon was named to the All-Rookie team.

Scouting the Catamounts
Vermont midfielder Daniel Pacella was named America East Rookie of the Year in addition to the All-Rookie Team and the All-Conference Second Team. He played a key role in the Vermont defense, with the Catamounts posting a league-best three goals allowed in six games this season.
Six more Catamounts received yearly awards -- Alex Nagy and Noah Egan were named to the All-Conference First Team and Garrett Lillie joined Pacella on the All-Conference Second Team. First years Bjarni Adalsteinsson and Zach Barrett received America East All-Rookie honors with Pacella.
Adalsteinsson was named America East Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, April 14. The first year netted his first collegiate goal last week against No. 11 New Hampshire.
