2021 EIVA Bracket
NEWARK, NJ--NJIT will be the No. 2 seed in the 2021 EIVA Conference Tournament which will be hosted by Penn State at Rec Hall on April 22-24.
The No. 11 Highlanders finished the regular season with a 13-5 overall mark, 13-3 in the EIVA. The 13 wins are the most wins for NJIT since the 2017 season when the Highlanders finished with a 13-13 overall mark.
NJIT broke into the National Volleyball Association (NVA)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I-II Men's Coaches top-15 poll after splitting a weekend EIVA series with then-ranked No. 11 Penn State on February 14.
With a new format this season, all six programs that have been active this season will take part in the tournament, which results in a different playoff bracket.
The tournament will open with two first-round matches, with each winner advancing to the semifinals. The first-round matches will be played on campus at the home of the higher seed.
No. 6 seed Sacred Heart will meet No. 3 seed George Mason at the RAC at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 16, and No. 5 seed Charleston faces No. 4 seed Saint Francis (Pa.) at DeGol Arena at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17.
The top two seeds, No. 1 Penn State and No. 2 NJIT, earn byes into the semifinals. The semifinals and finals will be played April 22 and 24 at Penn State's Rec Hall. Start times will be announced later this week.
The tournament champion earns an NCAA automatic qualifying berth. The NCAA National Collegiate Championship tournament begins May 3, and the semifinals and finals will be May 6-8. All matches will be played at Ohio State's Covelli Center.
