NJIT Wraps Up Three-Game Homestand; Hosts North Florida at 7pm on Monday

NEWARK, NJ--NJIT will wrap up its three-game homestand on Monday, February 10 at 7pm when the Highlanders welcome North Florida to NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.

Watch Game Live on ESPN+
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.  Michael Ventola, the voice of the Highlander women, will handle the play-by-play and color analysis from David Gass.

A simple way to find ESPN+ is on NJIT's official athletics website, www.njithighlanders.com. Near the middle of the home page under the headlines section, an upcoming events calendar lists scheduled NJIT contests. After finding the event, click the camera icon to the left of the event listing. That brings you to an ESPN+ portal where you can access the desired program.

Pink Month
NJIT will be raising money and awareness for breast cancer at every men's and women's basketball home game in February. Fans, students, and staff can bid on items listed on the silent auction table to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The Auction will begin on February 3rd at women's basketball vs North Alabama and end on February 24 at women's basketball vs Stetson. Every item will have a starting bid number. Each additional bid must be increased by the margin that is listed on each prize sheet. People that bid must write down their name, email and phone number so they can be contacted if they win ​​​​​​ Winners will be contacted at the end of the month and will have two weeks to claim their prize(s). Payments must be in cash or check, no credit cards will be accepted.

All-Time Series
North Florida leads the all-time series, 7-3.  In the first meeting this season, the Ospreys defeated NJIT, 71-48, in Jacksonville.  NJIT is 2-2 at home against the Ospreys and the Highlanders last win at home came on January 22, 2018 (75-65). 

Last Time Out
The Highlanders were led by senior forward Danielle Tunstall's 17th career double-double (sixth of the season) 16 points and 14 rebounds, leading three double-figure scorers for NJIT.  Kenna Squier and Ellyn Stoll each scored 10 points and added two assists.

Freshman guard Kennedy Cash, making her fifth start of the season, scored a career-best eight points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point range.  Forward Milena Bajic chipped in five points and grabbed seven rebounds for NJIT.

Scouting the Highlanders
Danielle Tunstall (12.6ppg) and Kenna Squier (11.1ppg) are the only two to average 10-plus points for the Highlanders this season. In league games, the duo average 11.6 PPG and 12.8 PPG, respectively. 

Tunstall is coming off her 17th career double-double and sixth of the season (16 points, 14 rebounds) against Jacksonville on Saturday.

Scouting the Ospreys
North Florida enters Monday's contest with a 13-10 overall mark, 6-4 in ASUN action.  The Ospreys have dropped its last two contests against Stetson and No. 24 FGCU.

Adrienne Jackson ranks second in the ASUN with a 9.3 RPG. She also has the top mark in league contests with 11.3 RPG. She is the lone ASUN player to average a double double in league games as she averages 10.2 PPG. 

Jazz Bond is ranked 18th in nation in blocked shots this season with 54 while sitting 22nd in blocked shots per game (2.45). 

Next Up
NJIT will play a pair of ASUN road games next weekend, visiting Liberty on February 15 at 2pm and Lipscomb on Monday, February 17 at 6:30pm (CT).  Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
