NJIT Women’s Basketball Concludes Season on the Road; Travels to Kennesaw State and North Alabama


​NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's basketball team will conclude its regular season this weekend at Kennesaw State (February 29) at 3:30pm and North Alabama (March 2) at 6pm (CT).  Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
Stetson's Day'Neisha Banks led all scorers as the Hatters defeated NJIT, 68-49, Monday evening in ASUN Conference women's basketball action inside the Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT was paced by junior guard Ellyn Stoll, who came off the bench to score 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point range.  Freshman guard Kenna Squier chipped in 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Near the middle of the home page under the headlines section, an upcoming events calendar lists scheduled NJIT contests. After finding the event, click the camera icon to the left of the event listing. That brings you to an ESPN+ portal where you can access the desired program.

All-Time Series vs. Kennesaw State
Kennesaw State leads the all-time series, 9-1.

Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT is led by two double-figure scorers -- Danielle Tunstall (13.0ppg) and Kenna Squier (10.9ppg).

Tunstall, the Highlander forward, has registered 19 double-doubles for her career (nine for the season) while posting 18 double-figure contests, including five 20-point performances.  Her 8.9rpg ranks Tunstall third in the ASUN.

Squier, the freshman guard has combined for 15 double-digit games, including the last five-out-of-eight contests.  She dished out a career-best eight assists at Lipscomb.

Scouting the Owls
Kennesaw State enters the final weekend of regular season action with a 12-14 overall mark, 5-9 in the ASUN.

The Owls, which have dropped their last three games, most recently at North Alabama, sit in seventh place in the ASUN standings.

Kennesaw State is led by three players averaging double-digits paced by Alexis Poole (16.3), Amani Johnson (14.3) and Carlotta Gianolla (11.5).  On the boards, Poole tops the Owls with 8.1rpg. Poole ranks in the top five in the ASUN in scoring (second) and rebounding (fifth).

All-Time Series vs. North Alabama
North Alabama leads the all-time series, 3-0.

Scouting the Lions
North Alabama (18-8, 9-5 ASUN) will visit No. 22 FGCU on Saturday, February 29 and conclude the regular season on Monday hosting the Highlanders.

The Lions moved back into the win column with a victory over Kennesaw State 71-54 on February 24 led by three double-figure scorers for the Lions.

UNA's top scorer Ivy Wallen ranks third in the ASUN in scoring at 15.7ppg while also leading the Lions with 191 assists.

Sister Emma Wallen is averaging 12.0ppg and tops the team with 60 three-point field goals while Brittany Panetti is averaging 10.7ppg.  Panetti's field goal percentage (58.6) ranks second in the ASUN.

Kenyesha Coulson three-point percentage (45.1) ranks third in the ASUN.
