Ivana Seric, a four-year member of the NJIT women's basketball team (2008-11) was able to turn her love of sports, math and science into a dream job with the NBA.
After earning a B.S. in applied mathematics in 2011, she continued her studies at NJIT, earning a Ph.D. in mathematical sciences, with a concentration in computational fluid dynamics in 2017.
Today, as a Data Scientist for the Philadelphia 76ers, Seric works on a team with 10 mathematicians and computer scientists who use data provided by the NBA to uncover insights and provide analytical solutions to assist players and coaches increase their chances of winning games.
