NEWARK, NJ--NJIT will make its second trip to the state of Florida on Saturday at 4pm, visiting first-place FGCU in ASUN Conference action inside Alico Arena.

All-Time Series
FGCU leads the all-time series, 12-0.  NJIT and FGCU last met in the 2019 ASUN Conference Quarterfinals.  The first time the two teams met dates back to March 6, 2008 in Edinburg, Texas at the Division I Independent Tournament.  The Eagles won 75-63.

Last Time Out
Lipscomb exploded for 44 second-half points led by three double-figure scorers as the Lady Bisons registered a 65-57 victory at NJIT in an ASUN Conference matinee on Monday afternoon inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT held a three-point lead after the first 10 minutes, 15-12 and went into the locker room with an eight-point advantage, 29-21.  The Lady Bisons poured in 20 points in the third quarter, outscoring NJIT, 20-13, and netted 24 points in the fourth stanza to secure an ASUN road win.

Senior forward Danielle Tunstall combined for her fifth double-double of the season (16th of her career), netting 14 points and grabbing a game-best 14 rebounds, including three blocks.  As a team, NJIT out-rebounded the Lady Bisons 41-to-28 (four shy the season-high mark).

Freshman guard Kenna Squier led the Highlanders with 18 points, shooting 6-for-11 from the field, 2-of-5 from three-point range and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.  Junior guard Ellyn Stoll, coming off a career-best 21 points against Kennesaw State on Saturday, chipped in eight points and pulled down four rebounds.

Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT (0-5 ASUN, 3-15 overall) are led by two double-figure scorers -- Danielle Tunstall (12.8ppg) and Kenna Squier (10.3ppg).

Tunstall, the Highlanders senior forward, is coming off her fifth double-double of the season (16th of her career) in a 14-point, 14-rebound performance against Lipscomb on Monday.  Her 8.7rpg ranks third in the ASUN.

Squier, a freshman guard, is shooting 47.1 percent from the field (65-for-138) in addition to pulling down 4.7rpg.  Squier has registered double-digits in the scoring column in the last five-out-of-six contests for the Highlanders, including 18 points against Lipscomb.

Scouting FGCU
FGCU (6-0 ASUN, 19-2 overall) have won eight straight, most recently an 80-63 ASUN win over Kennesaw State on January 20.  Keri Jewett-Giles produced her second-straight 20-point effort to lead the FGCU in the win.

With the win for FGCU, the Eagles became the first team nationally to reach 19 wins, stretched its overall winning streak to eight and have won 34 consecutive games against ASUN competition.

Jewett-Giles registered her sixth ASUN Conference Player of the Week, after registering a 25-point performance against North Alabama in which she poured in 13 straight in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles move into sole possession of first place in the ASUN standings, and she followed that up with 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting along with seven assists and three steals against Kennesaw State.

NJIT will return to action on Monday at Stetson in DeLand, FL.  Tip-off is slated for 7pm in ESPN+.
