All-Time Series
NJIT, which begins its fourth season competing in the ASUN Conference, holds a 2-1 all-time record against Stetson.  The Highlanders picked up wins in 2016 and most recently, last season, 2-0.

NJIT Notes
NJIT suffered its first loss of the season, 2-1, at Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday after being one-of-21 remaining Division I teams undefeated.

The Highlanders started off the season undefeated in its first five games, for the fourth straight consecutive season.

Nationally, NJIT ranks in the Top-20 in numerous statistical categories including goals (10th; 14), points (11th; 42), assists (12th; 14) and scoring offense (13th; 2.33).

Individually, Rene White, an ASUN Preseason All-Conference honoree, is seventh in total goals (6), Andrew Nino is ninth in total assists (4) and freshman goalkeeper Samuel Reisgys is third in minutes played (590:05) and eighth in total saves (30).

White and Reisgys both earned their second-consecutive Player and Defensive Player accolades, respectively, last week.

White tops the ASUN in goals and points while Reisgys leads the ASUN in save percentage and goals against average while sitting in second with 30 saves.

ASUN Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Highlanders were selected to finish seventh in the conference in a vote conducted by the league's seven head coaches.

United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA D1 Atlantic Region (as of Sept. 9)
Following an undefeated start to the 2019 season, the NJIT men's soccer team climbed up four sports in the latest United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region poll released on Tuesday.

NJIT, starting at 2-0-1, jumped up four spots, which saw a shift from the rankings a week earlier.

Having been ranked No. 6 in the Atlantic Region debut poll, NJIT went 1-0-1 last week, playing to a 2-2 double overtime draw in the home opener on Labor Day against Fordham and picked up the programs first-ever win over VCU, 1-0, in overtime, at defending regular season Atlantic 10 champions.

NJIT opened the 2019 campaign recording a 7-0 shutout at Sacred Heart.  The seven goals scored are the most scored by a Highlander team in the Division I era since the 2013 season when NJIT scored six goals against Howard on November 10.  The program mark stands at nine, accomplished in 2006.

2019 NJIT Outlook
After finishing with a 6-11-0 overall mark last season, fourth-year head coach Fernando Barboto will feature 11 newcomers as the Highlanders open the brand new state-of-the-art facility, Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Rene White, named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team, returns after a 2018 season which saw him lead the team in goals (11) and points (24). His totals in both statistical categories ranked him third in the ASUN for the season and helped him earn an ASUN All-Conference Second Team selection.

Scouting the Hatters from Stetson
Stetson enters Saturday's match with a 4-3 overall mark, picking up its first home win this season.

The four wins for the Hatters are the most in the ASUN.  Jacksonville, FGCU and Liberty each have three wins.

The Hatters are coming off a 2-1 victory at home against Georgia Southern on September 18.  Calum Ferguson and William Suaut each scored their first goals of the season, Ian McCauley added two assists and Stetson held on for a 2-1 win over Georgia Southern.

As a team, the Hatters rank second in the ASUN in GAA (1.14).  Goalkeeper Lute Lillo-Portero ranks 19th in the NCAA for minutes played at 540:00 and is second in the league with a 1.14 GAA.

Brendan Clark is tied for second in the league with two assists on the year.

Next Up
After playing three matches on the road, NJIT will play two consecutive matches at home, first hosting Seton Hall on September 24 at 7pm and ASUN Conference opponent, Liberty on September 28 at 1:30pm.
