NEWARK, NJ--NJIT Athletics will host its second consecutive New Jersey Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Leadership Symposium -
Lead Her Forward, on Friday, April 12 from 9:00am-3:30pm in NJIT's Wellness and Events Center Marjorie Perry/Highlander Theatre.
Approximately seventy-five female student-athletes & athletic administrators from New Jersey's four-year colleges will attend the symposium to discuss leadership and learn about the career opportunities that are available in the sports & fitness industry.
The symposium allows young women to explore the many possible career trajectories available to them within sports.
This one day conference aims to improve confidence, and to foster connections between current female athletic professionals and future female employees.
Dr. Meg Cannon, a sport psychologist, who works with four NJIT Highlander teams will be the keynote speaker.

LaTonya Watson, a veteran coach of nearly 16 years of Division I coaching experience, will lead the round table discussions on coaching.

About NJAIAW
New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) is a statewide organization with 26 members' schools. The purpose of NJAIAW is to provide an organization for female administrators, coaches, and staff that work within intercollegiate athletic departments throughout the state of New Jersey. The organization will provide educational opportunities, professional development, mentorship, and leadership education for all members, including staff and students. In addition, the organization will provide select championship opportunities for female athletes.
