FORT MYERS, Fla. --- The NJIT women's tennis team ended its week in Florida with its second ASUN Conference matchup of the season against Florida Gulf Coast. The Highlanders were defeated by FGCU Saturday evening, 6-1.

The lone victory for NJIT (12-4, 1-1 ASUN) came in the No. 6 singles flight as Shamika Dhar earned a 7-5, 7-5 straight set victory. The Highlanders' closest losses came at the top two flights as Joleta Budiman and Mouna Bouzgarrou fell in a pair of 6-4, 6-4 defeats.

NJIT will return to action at home on Saturday, March 30 when North Florida travels to Newark. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
